Kernfusion is a young four-piece ensemble hailing from Carinthia, Austria, offering an explosive blend of various musical influences. Alongside strong inspirations from Jazz, genres such as Rock and Hip-Hop, as well as electronic elements, play a crucial role in their music. The four instrumentalists, who currently study at various jazz institutes in Austria founded the band back in 2017 during their school days. Since then, they have won several competitions including the “Joe Zawinul Prize” in 2018. Additionally they have performed many concerts including at the renowned Viennese Jazz Club “Porgy & Bess,” the Jazz Festival Bratislava, and at the Jazz City Festival in Iasi, Romania. In the summer of 2022, the group released their self titled debut album “Kernfusion”, which includes twelve original compositions. Each of the four members also contributes to composing pieces for the band. The current album is available on CD and all major streaming platforms.
